People of all ages are painting rocks and hiding them at parks and other public places around their towns for people to find. The fad began shortly after Pokemon Go became popular and has been going on for several years now.
It was a non-electronics version of the game, giving people a chance to get outside and hunt for things. It’s also a similar to geo-caching but without special coordinates to help you find the hidden treasures. You can find hidden rocks all over your town and you never know when or where the next one will show up.
We have started our own "Traveling Rocks' campaign to help build our new network across the State of Idaho. The goal is to leave #LegalizeIdaho painted rocks around the state and watch them travel, hopefully bringing more people to join our cause!
Paint a small flat rock. Bright colors help grab attention. Use images like Idaho and a potleaf or a medical symbol.
Don't forget to include #LegalizeIdaho
Avoid grassy areas and private property!
Rocks can damage lawn equipment and cause harm to others. Please be careful where you place your rock.
Take a few pictures of your rock.
Be sure the #LegalizeIdaho
is easily visible in the photos!
Send us photos of your rock and it's starting location by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
